BENCHING & SUPPLIES: Bring your own cage is encouraged. Benching is by Double Cage Space Only. Our fees are kept as low as possible to help you, the exhibitor. No kitten under 3 months of age will be allowed in the show hall (be prepared to show proof of age.) We place cages according to what is submitted on the summary form. If you answer "Own Cage" with *no* (meaning you are not bringing your own cage), a wire cage sized to your entry payment will be placed and a nominal fee of $5.00 will be assessed. We must know who will be providing their own cage--setting-up/removing wire cages unnecessarily may incur an additional service fee. Odd numbered entries must buy a 1/2 space/cage, see Summary for prices.
A grooming or exhibition-only space is the same size as a double cage space: 22” x 44”. You must have an entry in the show to purchase a sales/exhibition cage. All cages must be covered on the top, sides, back, and bottom. Everyone is expected to supply their own litter and litter boxes; however, we will have a limited amount of litter and disposable cardboard litter boxes as a courtesy to those who fly-in to exhibit at our show. Special benching requests will be honored to the best of our ability. "Handicapped" is a benching request and only one request is considered. Agent request takes priority over benching request. Clerks will be benched first. Vending from the benching area is strictly prohibited.
HEALTH REQUIREMENTS: This is a non–vetted show: Standing Rule 205.3 - 205.3.5: Any cat showing signs of illness, parasites or fungus will be escorted from the show hall. All entries should be vaccinated against feline viral rhinotracheitis, calicivirus, and feline enteritis, and should test negative for feline leukemia and feline AIDS. Any cat or kitten from a house or cattery where there has been fungus or any infectious or contagious illness within 21 days prior to the opening date of the show is ineligible for entry and/or exhibition. Cats obviously pregnant are ineligible for competition. Florida law requires any animal over the age of 4 months be vaccinated against rabies within the last 12 months (be prepared to show proof)! TICA show rules require all claws, front and back, be clipped prior to benching.
REGISTRATION: To show a cat in a TICA show, your cat might need to be TICA registered or eligible for registration in TICA. All cats shown in the following classes must be TICA registered to be entered in a show: Preliminary New Breed, Advanced New Breed, and New Traits. All cats shown in the Kitten, Championship, and Alter classes must be TICA registered or eligible for registration. If not registered, proof of registration eligibility is required to enter the show. Contact the entry clerk for more information on how to enter your cat, kitten, or alter without at TICA registration number. Household Pets and Household Pet Kittens do not need to be TICA registered to compete. However, to be scored for TICA titles and regional / International awards, all cats (other than household pet kittens) must be registered by their second show. Please contact TICA for registration forms and information (TICA, P. O. Box 2684, Harlingen, TX 78551).
HOUSEHOLD PETS: Household pets 8 months of age and older MUST be spayed or neutered. If you are not sure of the proper class or color of your cat, check out http://www.seregiontica.org/Colors/intro.htm or send the entry clerk a color photo of your entry. Photo will be returned at the show. Declawed Household Pets are OK at TICA shows due to the number of HHPs that are declawed rescue cats.
KITTENS: Kittens entered in the show must be at least four months, but less than eight months of age on the day of the show. 23.8.1: No kitten under the age of 3 calendar months is permitted in the show hall under any circumstance.
CATS FOR SALE: Sales cages will be available to exhibitors ONLY and must be owned by the same/paid exhibitor. Kittens must be three (3) calendar months of age. Proof of age must be provided on request. No kittens-cats may be confined to carriers during show hours. Any person disregarding these rules will be asked to leave the show. Florida requires health certificates accompany any animal sold in the state. Skyway Cat Club takes no responsibility for your failure to familiarize yourself with applicable FL statutes. Health Certificates will be checked.
CLERKS: If interested in clerking at the show, please contact the entry clerk. Our clerks will be paid $30 per day, provided lunch, a marked catalog (via e-mail only), and may have preferential benching. Requests for specific judges will be considered; however, all assignments are at the discretion of show management. Trainees and assistants are welcome. Clerks may not deduct anticipated clerk payment from entry fees.
